Virtual Take Your Child to Work Day: Code Your Own Adventure!

Participants joined us as we coded fantastic stories and adventures in Scratch! Our teacher guided kids in creating their own Scratch project – a creative story of their own invention. Scratch’s innovative block-based coding language allowed children ages 5+ to learn the fundamentals of computer science by making animations, games, and more. No previous coding experience was necessary.

Peak Blossom Doughnut Giveaway with Curiosity Doughnuts

The first 50 visitors to stop by The Boro’s Curiosity Doughnuts location and ask for the “Blossom Doughnut” on April 8-11 received a free cherry-blossom-themed treat. We did a fun giveaway on social as well!


Rooftop Wine & Paint Class with North Italia

Saturday, April 10, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, on Boro Tower Rooftop, 8350 Broad Street, McLean, VA 22102

Participants joined us for the perfect springtime evening with stunning rooftop views, a cherry blossom themed wine and paint class and treats supplied by North Italia. Tickets were $20 and half of all proceeds from ticket sales were donated to Autism Speaks!


Outdoor Yoga Class in Boro Park with Flower Child

Saturday, April 3, 9:30 am-10:30 am, in Boro Park, 8350 Broad Street, McLean, VA 22102

We had a morning of zen in Boro Park. Yogis grabbed their mats and enjoyed the sunshine as we celebrated the start of Spring. After class, all registered participants received a $10 gift card from Flower Child and cherry blossom take-home treats to enjoy! Tickets were $20 per person and $10 from each ticket benefited Autism Speaks.


Doggie Playdate & Blossom Bandana Giveaway

We enjoyed a pop-up springtime doggie playdate in Boro Park, spending the day with four-legged friends and their owners! Each registered pet guest received a floral bandana, doggie biscuits and cherry blossom treats to share with their 2-legged plus one.


American Red Cross Blood Drive

The Boro partnered with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive. With the donations, we saved 25 lives!

Professional chefs taught us how to make the very best Belgian waffles, homemade blueberry syrup, & more! Plus, participants got a special cove@Home Event Pack with a waffle iron, toppings, & other kitchen treats before the big event.
